Monika Drożyńska

An artist and activist working with hand embroidery and fabric. She implements socially engaged projects both in public space and on a smaller scale. In 2014, she founded the Embroidery School for ladies and gentlemen “Hands of Gold”, which promotes traditional techniques of flat and cross stitching.

She collaborated with Zachęta National Gallery of Art, Center for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle, Contemporary Museum in Wrocław, Mumok in Vienna, Ludwig Museum in Budapest, and BOZAR in Brussels. Her works are in the collections of Bunkier Sztuki Gallery, the National Museum and the MOCAK Contemporary Art Museum in Krakow.

A fellow of the Ministry of Culture and Visegrad Artist Residency Program. She is a finalist of “Kulturalne odloty” (Cultural Take-offs) organized by the largest daily in Poland “Gazeta Wyborcza” and “Kulturysta” (Culture Vulture) competition of the Polish Radio.
